Intermediate Surf Lesson
Who Are Intermediate Lessons For?
Surfers who can confidently catch and ride whitewater waves
Those beginning to paddle out to green (unbroken) waves
Anyone working on wave selection, turning, or positioning
Surfers who want structured coaching to reach the next level
What You’ll Learn
Our structured lessons help you improve across several key areas:
✔ Wave Reading & Positioning
Understand how to identify the best waves, position yourself in the lineup, and read sets. You’ll learn how to paddle into waves more efficiently and avoid common positioning mistakes.
✔ Angle Take-Offs
Rather than taking off straight, we teach you how to angle your board with the wave so you can ride along the face — not just toward the beach.
✔ Bottom Turns & Trimming
Learn the core turning mechanics that allow you to steer with control, maintain speed, and stay with the wave’s power source.
✔ Timing & Flow
Develop a better feel for when to paddle, when to pop up, and how to connect sections of the wave fluidly.
✔ Surf Etiquette in the Lineup
Intermediate surfers often enter crowded surf zones. We’ll ensure you understand the unwritten rules of surf culture to keep things respectful and safe.
How Lessons Are Structured
Each session runs for approximately 90–100 minutes, and includes:
Pre-session briefing and student goal check
Ocean condition review and surf spot breakdown
Warm-up and land-based technique recap
Paddling out to the lineup and wave catching
Real-time feedback during rides
Post-surf review and tips for self-practice
What You’ll Ride
At this level, you may switch to a hardboard, funboard, or hybrid surfboard, depending on your goals and wave conditions. Your instructor will help choose the most suitable board for your progression.
Your Next Step Toward Surf Mastery
Intermediate surfing is the most rewarding stage — where everything clicks, but you’re still learning every session. Our coaches help remove the guesswork so you can focus on growth, fun, and unlocking your unique surfing style.
You’re no longer just learning to surf — you’re learning to surf well.
